The department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML) is approved by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi from the academic year 2020-21. The exiting journey of the department is started in the year 2020. The department offers an undergraduate B.E. program with an intake of 60 students.
The department is started to cater the needs of Industry 4.0, which has created revolution by integrating new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT) etc., into their production facilities and their operations.
The Department has well qualified faculty with rich research and teaching experience and is committed to impart rigorous training to the students to generate knowledge through the state of art concepts and technologies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The department has adequate infrastructure with state-of-art laboratories to facilitate advanced learning environment. Workshops, Bridge Courses, Carrier guidance, technical skills and soft skill programs are conducted by industry experts and academicians to enhance the skills of the students to meet the cutting edge technologies. The Department has MOUs with several industries which in turn provide internship and training to our students.
To cope up with the upcoming Industrial demands, it is highly required to ensure adaption of latest skills among students of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to meet the Industry standards. With this objective the department organizes School of Artificial Intelligence program, spread across 4 years, being conducted in collaboration with M/s Tequed Labs, Bangalore, to help the students improve on cutting edge technologies and develop AI applications.
The Department coordinates Infosys Campus Connect program, regular training sessions are being organized for the students of all the streams to ensure preparedness for Infosys Certification Examination. The students are also motivated to get certified on various certification courses available on Infosys Springboard platform which helps to bridge the gap between Industry and Academia.

Data Structures Laboratory is to provide practical learning on various data structures and to understand the processing of different algorithm for problem-solving. Students gain practical knowledge by writing and executing programs in C/C++/JAVA using various data structures and implementing algorithm principles.
The Analog and Digital Electronics Laboratory is to provide students to observe working of various electronic components and design of Electronic Circuits and Digital Circuits, with digital trainer kits, CRO’s, signal generators and IC’s such as 7432, 7402, 7486, 74132, 7473 etc.,
Design and Analysis of Algorithm Laboratory is to provide creating an efficient algorithm to solve problem in an efficient way using minimum time and space. And also, through analysis provides theoretical estimation for the required resource.
Microcontroller Lab helps students to learn and enhance their Assembly Level Language programming skills for ARM based Microcontroller. Also they learn to interface microcontroller with external devices like stepper motor, keypad, Logic controller, LCD, 7 segment displays etc.,
Artificial Intelligence Laboratory is to learn and execute basic python fundamental programs, Implement and demonstrate various AI algorithms for problem solving and also to evaluate the same.
Data base management systems Laboratory gives the foundation knowledge in database concepts, technology and practice to groom students into well informed database application developers. It gives strong practice in SQL programming through a variety of database problems and give the knowledge to develop database applications using front-end tools and Back end DBMS
In machine learning lab, students learn various algorithms to design and implement machine learning solutions to classifications, regression and clustering problems.
Digital image processing laboratory is the use of a digital computer to process digital images through an algorithm. It allows a much wider range of algorithms to be applied to the input data and can avoid problems such as the build-up of noise and distortion during processing.
Mobile Application Development Laboratory is to provide processes and procedures involved in writing software for small, wireless computing devices.
The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning lab is to make computers learn much about the world, so rapidly and flexibly, as humans. This poses many deep and fascinating scientific problems.

The ‘Mini Project Exhibition’ organized by TECHSANSKRITHI, Club under Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Department on the 15 th of September 2023. With an impressive participation of 60 enthusiastic individuals, this exhibition showcased a diverse array of projects, ranging from ‘Web Programming’ to ‘Java Projects’ and ‘Embedded Projects’. The Technical Quiz was conducted, 40 students have successfully attended the Quiz. This event’s purpose, organization, and highlights from each project category, shedding light on TECHSANSKRITHI’s dedication to promoting technological prowess and fostering innovation within its community.
AIML Club was inaugurated on 15 th September 2023. The club name was unveiled as “TECHSANSKRITHI” and logo was launched in presence of Dr. Geetha C Megharaj, Professor and Head, HOD’s of various departments, Faculties of AIML department, Final and Pre-final year students of AIML. It served as a dynamic platform for showcasing innovation, with attendees witnessing the technical prowess and creative genius of the projects on display.
It was conducted with the aim to create a real time application project in the open-source environment. The event was conducted on 30th December 2022 with 26 participants of AIML, ISE and CSE departments. The workshop was organized in sophisticated way with the resource person delivering the sessions with complete practical exposure to students. The resource person was Prof. Prema C, Assistant professor, AIML department.
It was conducted with the aim to provide knowledge of Micro Python programming and applying the same for developing real-time projects along with applications related to ESP8266 microchip. The event was conducted for 3 days from 5 th Dec to 7 th Dec 2022 with 19 students registering from two departments AI&ML & ECE. The workshop was delivered providing the hands-on sessions on Micro Python, Robot assembling and robotic projects. The resource person was Mr. K Uday Bhargav, Founder, GenEd Technologies, Bangalore.
It was conducted with the aim to provide basic knowledge on java programming and to get practical experience on concepts of java programming. The event was conducted for 5 days from 7 th November to 12 th November 2022 with 40 participants of AIML department. The bridge course was organized in sophisticated way with the resource persons delivering the sessions with complete practical exposure to students.
Bridge Course on “C++ Programming” was conducted with the aim to provide basic knowledge of Object Oriented Programming concept. The event was conducted for 5 days from 23 rd May 2022 to 27 th may 2022.
The Departments of Computer Science and Engineering & Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning of Sri Krishna Institute of Technology, jointly organized 4th National Conference on “Recent Trends in Computer Science and Information Technology”[RTCSIT- 2022] during 10th June 2022. The objective of this conference was to provide a conducive environment for the participants to share experiences in Engineering and Technology fields, Enables triggering minds among the parties involved, Provide opportunities to form partnerships among research participants, Expanding the field of Engineering and Technology at the global level.

An awareness session on Infosys Certification Exam was conducted for the 5 th Semester students of all branches on 29 th December 2021 by Dr. Geetha Megharaj, Prof. & HOD AIML. The details of Importance of Infosys Certification, Eligibility Criteria, and Examination Process, Examination pattern, Registration Process and Infosys platform for learning process were shared among the students. Students were encouraged for registrations.
A Knowledge sharing session on “Microsite creation” on Infosys Springboard platform was conducted on, 21.12.2021, at 3.30pm. All the department coordinators of INFYTQ were attended the session and it was useful for the attendees. Content Delivery was done by Prof. Manzoor Ahmed, Asst. Prof., AIML.
Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence” was conducted on 14 th Dec 2021 at K.M.V. Red Hills High School, with the aim to provide basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and to get overview of all applications of AI and Machine Learning.
