Objectives
To implement and monitor the AICTE Activity Points Programme in accordance with AICTE guidelines for holistic student development.
To ensure all eligible students complete the required number of activity points beyond academic credits as mandated under the AICTE Activity Points framework.
To promote student engagement in meaningful co-curricular, extracurricular, and social activities, including community service, technical exposure, cultural initiatives, sports, and sustainability efforts.
To nurture practical life skills, leadership qualities, social responsibility, and ethical awareness among students.
To integrate experiential learning with real-world challenges, encouraging students to apply engineering knowledge for community and societal impact.
To foster inclusive participation and personal development by encouraging activities that enhance teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
Functions
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the institution’s AICTE Activity Points Programme, ensuring alignment with AICTE standards and university requirements.
Create awareness among students and faculty about AICTE Activity Points requirements, categories, and eligible activities.
Develop and maintain a structured mechanism for students to register, participate in, and record activity points across approved categories (e.g., community service, technical engagement, cultural/sports, awareness campaigns).
Facilitate and organize campus initiatives and collaborations with external agencies (NGOs, community groups, school partnerships) that qualify for activity points.
Verify and certify students’ participation and submission of supporting documentation for earned activity points.
Maintain accurate records and activity point logs for each student, including evidence such as attendance, reports, certificates, and community feedback.
Coordinate with academic departments, coordinators, clubs, and committees to integrate activity-point activities into the student life and institutional calendar.
Prepare consolidated reports on activity point fulfillment for issuance to the registrar/academic office for degree eligibility verification.
Facilitate review and feedback mechanisms to improve activity planning and impact measurement in subsequent academic years.
Document and present activity point outcomes for institutional quality assurance, NAAC/NBA documentation, and compliance audits.
